H-1B visa transfer takes the same time as a new H-1B processing. When a visa holder finds another job, the new employer will sponsor the visa holder and will file the petition for the H-B transfer. It will take 2-3 weeks to complete the transfer if filed under “Premium Processing”. On the other hand, it takes around 3-6 months to be approved if filed under “Regular Processing”. Upon submission of the petition, the visa holder can immediately start working.
