    Yes, immigrants and non-immigrants in the US can apply for credit cards. Although at first, it will be difficult for you to be approved for a credit card due to lack of credit score. Credit score is very important in the US when applying for credit accounts like credit card, personal loans, and mortgages. If you are new in the US, the best thing to do is build a good savings account in a US bank and apply for a secured credit card with the same bank. Once you have enough credit, you can apply for unsecured credit card.

    You can build enough credit as well by being an authorized for somebody else's credit card. Perhaps the easiest thing to do is to apply for a personal loan from private lenders. This is a good way to kickstart your credit. Company's like STILT give hassle-free loans to immigrants and non-immigrants to help build credit. Once you have a good credit score, you can apply for as many credit cards as you want.
