I ran into this error message while checking on the status of my OPT application: "At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the NCSC 1 (800) 375-5283 for additional information." What does it mean?

This is a pretty common error that many applicants see. Please don't panic, hopefully, your status will be updated soon. It's possible that you have RFE (Request for Information) and you'll need to submit extra documents to get a final approval.

You can read more about RFE (Request for Information) here. It is in 2 parts.

There are various options to get the most updated information:

    1. Sign up on https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ - create an account to get the most updated information on your OPT status.

    2. Call them at the given number - (800) 375-5283. Get a status update.

While you are applying for OPT but have a job offer and looking for some additional funds to survive, you can apply for a loan with Stilt. We can't help with getting your visa faster but we can definitely try to help make it less financially burdensome.

Also, feel free to reach out to us via email at team@stilt.co.
