Checking your credit report at least once a year is quite reasonable. Remember, you're entitled to one free report from each of the three bureaus (Experian, Equifax and Transunion) every year. So, don't miss out the chance to find out how your credit is doing. A poor credit record may hit you big time so make it appoint to check yours on a regular basis.

However, if you have more than enough reason to check your credit report more than once in a year, then don't hesitate to do so. Checking your own credit report, won't hurt your score at all. So whether your identity has been compromised or your simply monitoring derogatory records from being removed from your report, take the initiative to check your credit report whenever you need to!
