Is an O-1 visa an easy path to gain permanent residence in the US?

  No, an O-1 visa is not an easy path towards permanent residence in the US. Although the visa has dual intent, which gives the holders a direct path for a green card, it doesn't mean that the process will be easy.  O-1 visa holders still need to apply for and obtain an EB-1 visa, which is a separate process. With an O-1 visa, you basically have most of the qualifications required for an EB-1 visa, but there are still some that you need to work on. You need to assess all the accomplishments that you submitted for the O-1 visa and try to improve them to get a better chance at EB-1 visa. While working with an O-1 visa, you need to strengthen all your qualifications.
