The short answer is - Yes, now you can.

Let us look at the broad types of consumer loans in the U.S.

    1. Personal Loan: These loans are generally fully amortized loans between $1,000 - $40,000 with APR from 5% - 36%. These are the loans you’ll get from companies like Lending Club, Prosper, LoanDeport, LendingPoint and many others.
      1. They need a strong credit history (only 3% of the applicants with less than 6 year credit history are approved on Lending Club)
      2. Interest rates are generally high for people with limited credit or imperfect credit history
      3. Credit Score is not useful if you don’t have a long enough credit history
    2. Student Loan Refinance: These loans are available only to U.S. citizens with government or private student loans. The normal loan amount range is $10,000-$250,000 and APRs between 3.5% - 10.0%.
    3. Payday loan: These are loans for people at the lowest income levels. Most of the people going for payday loans are living paycheck to paycheck with zero savings and no cushion for an additional expense. The average loan size is $250 and APRs are ~400%.

As a non-U.S. citizen your only option is a personal loan. But if you go to websites offering these loans, you’ll most likely be rejected because of your limited or zero credit history. Even if approved by a lender, The average APR for you could be anywhere between 27% - 36%. The simple reason is they make decisions based on just one factor - credit score.

We started Stilt to fix this problem for non-U.S. citizens. Our application process is designed for them and takes into account a lot of additional factors that other lenders ignore. Our interest rates are only between 10% - 16% (the lowest in the industry).
